new lens.

I have been working with my dad and Eric to make a website for my Dad's company.  When I say "we" I mean mostly Eric... but I have taken the pictures.  For the job, my dad got me a wide angle lens in order to capture whole buildings instead of just parts of them.  Anyway, I just got it in the mail today and I was amazed at the pictures it took.

I know it looks like I'm standing away from the house, but I'm actually not. I was standing so close to the house that I had to turn my head from right to left to see each side. I'd say the wide angle lens is a success.

Not wide angle, just fun :)

The last strawberry standing. Until next year, red delicious berry that I love.

over the hump.

Today is Wednesday, which means I am past the hump that is hump day! Only 2 more days of work until the 3 day weekend! Eric and I are meeting up at JMU to spend time together over the weekend (and pack up since he has to be out of his house in a week)... but mostly to hang out. :).  For the 4th of July on Monday, we're driving back to Maryland and going to all of the Baker Park festivities.  There will be live country music (as well as other music for you non-country lovers), bath tub races, pie eating contests, fireworks, a chili cook-off and more. When I heard about the chili cook-off I was pretty much sold. And I am still working on getting Eric to join the pie eating contest. As my family well knows, and anyone else that knows Eric, the boy can EAT.  My family always teases him about the amount of food he consumes. So naturally, the pie eating contest has his name written all over it.

Also, Katie started showing me all of the wonderful edits that photoshop offers, so I just had to order it for myself.  I wasted no time. Not only did I order it, but I express shipped it because I just couldn't wait the 7-10 days for shipping. I have been practicing a lot. It really takes a long time to get used to. Anyway, I wanted to share some of the edits I've played around with so far.

Edited on Right.

frisbees, paddle ball, and baseball, oh my!

Yesterday was a very lazy day.  For some reason everyone in the family (Guinness included) just felt exhausted, lazy, and worn out. I'm pretty sure we all ended up taking a nap at some point in the day.  We still found it within us, however, to get outside and play with David and Bailey before they left to go back home. My mom bought these paddles with velcro on them and tennis balls that we used to play with as a kid.  Since David is still too little to play catch (we tried), we thought this would be a fun alternative! He was a little unsure about it, but when we asked him if he wants to go inside he did not at ALL. We also keep discovering new things about Bailey even though he has been in the family for a few years now.  At the lake house a few months ago, we found out that not only does he fetch sticks on land, but he fetches them in the water... and pretty deep too. He had never done that before.  Well yesterday we discovered that he can catch frisbees in the air! Go Bailey!

first half photo shoot.

Yesterday I asked Katie if it was ok to follow her along to her photo shoot, so that I could see how they go.  The shoot was of two girls who wanted their own senior portraits done so they drove from Baltimore to have Katie do their pics.  Almost halfway into the shoot, Katie got pretty sick and could not finish, so she had me finish the shoot for her! Talk about freak out mode.  I guess I really got to see how photo shoots went, since I did half of one. Anyway, here are some of the pics we took.  The ones I took start halfway down where it says ECB and then from there down :)
