Today (and every other day so far this summer since I don't have a job yet) has been very relaxing. Since Eric and I are 4.5 hours apart, and Katie, Dan, David, and Brynn are in Ireland for another week, I had some time to myself. Other than being completely bored out of my mind most of the time, I have found a few hobbies. One hobby that I picked up is from my sister. Scrapbooking. I always used to visit katie and watch her scrapbook and look through all of hers in amazement. She has millions. I mean, she has entertainment centers full of scrapbooks of her and Dan and David and Brynn, and for every occasion. She is
very creative. She always told me that scrapbooking is her outlet and that it's "therapeutic." I totally understand now! I have found that if I sit down to scrapbook and I tell myself.. "oh, i'll just do a page or so" i end up doing multiple pages, and sitting in my room all day behind closed doors, listening to music and just going at it. You readers can probably already grasp my love for photography, so scrapbooking (a fun, yet very expensive hobby) just makes sense! I started this little endeavor during the last few months at school and decided that I wanted a college scrapbook to note all the great times with friends. About $100 (and counting) at Michaels, and 200 printed pictures later, I decided that maybe I should tone it down a little. Scrapbooking is one of those hobbies where you never have enough stuff. There are stamps and ribbons and letters and paper and scraps and decorations... you can take 6 trips to Michaels in one week and you still wont have enough things. Like i said before...expensive. But it sure is fun... and messy!

On another note, I have mentioned a few times that I am still living at home, since I am jobless at the moment. I am working on that, however. I have responded daily to classifieds in the local paper, applied to the Maryland health department (who let you know anywhere from now until May 0f 2012... thanks guys), and gone to different employment agencies here. I have an interview tomorrow at 8:45 so they can see where I am interested in working. I hope it works out! These employment/temp agencies usually do a good job at finding places. Who knew being a college grad in this economy would be so brutal...? I plan on going back to school when I figure out what I want to do. It may even relate to my major in undergrad... health sciences (or maybe not..) I am hoping that working through the temp agency can give me experience in different work settings so i can hopefully get an idea of what i want to do for the rest of my life.
Anyway, enough blabbing. Sorry readers. Here are a few perks of living at home again.
Dad: master of the universe by day, master of the grill by night (or evening-ish)
And a glimpse at my mom's beautiful garden... her pride and joy..
