I just realized today that I never updated you all on Eric's situation! I've been so excited about it and telling everyone and I forgot to blog about it... silly silly. I had mentioned on an earlier post that we went to look at a house next to Baker Park that was split into different apartments. It was pretty nice, especially for the ideal location, and was really cute. Small, but cute. Eric said he couldn't really see himself living there so we moved on. To craigslist. This was not my choice. Ever since "The Craigslist Killer" movie came out, I have been a little more skeptical about it. Can ya blame me?!? Anyway, he had a list of places that he wanted to look at, so he called them all and waited for a response to see when he could look at them. He actually got a call back from a man that night saying we can go over there and look at the place. We went over right away and basically fell in love. It's in a place called Middletown, which is not actually in the city of Frederick, but it's in Frederick county. It's about 15 minutes away from the city, where he will be working, which is GREAT. Anyway, the neighborhood is SO nice and gorgeous (on a golf course). One of my best friends in high school lived in that neighborhood, so I am pretty familiar with it. It is a townhouse, so there isn't much of a yard, but its SO big on the inside and so new. Eric pretty much fell in love with it (and so did I). The man that owns the house is a deaf, older man, who lives in the basement. It was hard communicating with him about the place, but we managed :). He is renting out the master suite, and 2 other bedrooms. Eric took the master suite, which is completely furnished, and the other 2 rooms are empty and will probably stay that way. He moves in on August 1st and we are both so excited!!!! I'm so glad he found a nice place. I was getting really worried when we were looking up places. It seemed that all the places he was interested in are way too expensive (the cost of living in Frederick) and all the places he could afford were in very bad areas. I was getting really worried, I think I even tried to convince him out of moving here for a little while. But all is well that ends well. So, August 1st he moves in an starts his new job at MedImmune (a pharmaceutical company). And then, no more long distance for us!!! :) :)
Here are a few pics that I took of his new place!
Master suite. The view out of the window is GORGEOUS! I'm talking mountainous views. All green!
Attached bathroom!
... Did I mentioned it was fully furnished, including a cat named Socks??? (Far left, top of couch)
It even includes kitchenware (pots, pans, dishes, etc.)
Living room. Kitchen. Dining room.
Enjoy your new place, Eric! I can't wait until you get here! :)
